Vision & Mission
Frederick Douglass International Academy is a charter school formed pursuant to the Revised School Code of 1976, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 8 in Oak Park, Michigan. FDIA provides a diverse, academically challenging, and supportive learning environment grounded in character-centered education.
The school is part of the Hanley Harper Group network, alongside sister schools Academy of International Studies and Jefferson International Academy.

FDIA is governed by a school board that holds public meetings. Board meetings provide transparency and an opportunity for families and community members to stay informed about school governance. A special board meeting was held on March 17, 2016 at Hanley Harper Group, 20542 Harper Ave., Harper Woods, MI 48225.
